Tournament Burnout

Last night, got involved in 3 tournaments.

6pm: Poker Blue 150 players, top 10 payout, winner wins either a WPT seat or a WSOP main event seat. For some reason I still had connection problems on my laptop. I dunno, maybe I had too many things running before I started playing. Player quality was surprising better than I anticipated. Compared to the ring game players, these guys were like pros! And surprisingly only 1 no show at my table. Ended up 40ish I believe, just ran out of cards.

8pm: $4500 guaranteed on some stupid site. Got in free after I deposited $100. Didn't realize it was a rebuy/addon tourney. A lot of rebuys. I don't like these tournies. Didn't play with much interest, top 30 paid, still ended up 57 with no rebuys or addons.

9pm: >Poker Source Online Cruise Freeroll. Top 2 win a poker cruise. By this time I was pretty tired. Staring at a screen for so long takes its toll. Got Big Slick 3 times, all 3 times all my chips went in, Won 1 lost 2, Unforutnately losses > wins, and the final time it took me out. AK vs QQ, Q on the flop. A on the river didn't help, when my only 4 outs were a J to complete broadway.

So I played tourney poker for 5hrs, and went away with nothing, not a fun time. I don't think I'm gonna stack all these tournies together again. Didn't play too many ring games this weekend, came 2nd in a small live home game, and did a reload at Ladbrokes. Only £30, but it was nice and easy. 4xD+4xB. Woohoo tomorrow is November, I can start my other reloads again! :)

Taking your time

Last night I played in a MTT, winner gets a WPT seat at the Bellagio. 23 people left, top 20 are in the $ as well, I made a stupid play. Now I knew the one guy likes to make the all-in any position blind steal, and this time I read it correctly, I failed to think it through. I held Axs and was on the SB. I decided that next time he tried that move I would call with any A or pp. What I failed to realize was that, I'm so close to the $, do I really need to make that move yet? Calling would only leave me at a slight favourite at best. Though I was on the lower echelon of chips, in comparison to the blinds I still had time to play. Not thinking things through after playing 2+ hours will hurt you. Now I have to remember that for next time. oh and btw, the guy held J9, and flopped a K high straigh. Not J to complete that straight for me.

Poker Blue

Figured out why my connection was so bad on
PokerBlue You CAN'T use Dual Monitor setup! How retarded is that. Anyways, installed it on my laptop, and about 15mins got an email saying I qualified for the freeroll. Easy 4 hours (playing 2 tables for 2 hours = 4 hours). Players are the weakest that I've ever seen, worse than Pacific.

Playing Updates

Cash Game and Casino action for the past few days:

Harrods Casino: Very nice casino. 100% max £50, 20xB. Finished up +£100 Cashout took 1-2 days.

Ladbrokes Casino: Reload 100% max £50, 4xD + 4xB. Autoplayed Las Vegas Downtown. I seem to have better luck at that game than the Strip version. 2 decks, dealer hits on soft 17 vs 4 decks, stands on all 17. Finished up +£120

Virtual Casino: 150% max $150. 20xD+B. I swore I would never do another RTG because of unbelievable results and screw job from Palace of Chance. I busted this one extremely quickly. Flat betting $5 until I got down to my original $100 in less than 1/2hr. Bet big to try to recoup, didn't work. I swear, no more RTG for me!

Arthurian: 150% max $75. 20xD+B. Autoplay Microgaming. Had some rule where you could only withdraw d+2xB. Busted out autoplaying Las Vegas Strip. See downtown is better! :) Might give another shot with Colliseum Casino, same bonus.

Eurobet: Still playing out my $200 bonus. Play is tighter but there are still fishes. The table ganged up on some poor sucker sun night on a $50nl table. Poor guy lost about $200+ when I was there. Dude raised me allin after the rainbow flop holding AK, and me holding rockets. Only got that big pot off of him, got some medium size pots. So far 1/2 way through the wr, up approx $200.

Paradise: Played some $50nl here as well to get me million$ qualifier. $100 in a 1/2hr session. I love paradise.


PokerBlue: Tried this puppy out. Playing 4hrs gives you a qualifier seat into the 2006 wsop or another wpt event. I don't know who sucks more, the software or the players. The software side, I get disconnected fairly often, Major resource hog (can't really do 4 table, even 2 tabling is unstable). Only 1 sometimes 2 NL tables going at a time, at all levels!!! On the player side, guys were calling down to the river with bottom pair, sometimes A high, every hand! The worst though was one hand I held AQ. Preflop raise, 2 callers. Flop comes Q high. Check, Bet, fold, call. Turn, Check, Bet, Call. River, Check, Bet, Call. I turn over my pair of Qs, dude turns over the nut straight. WTF, why don't you want my money?

I've decided to primarily play no limit now. Will play $50nl for the next month or so, then go on to $100nl. Limit was starting to bore me, and its time to win some bigger pots now. I may play the occaisional $1/2 bonus whoring hand, or 2/4 3/6 on UB, but thats about it.

$50NL on "Party Skin" network. AA on BB. Folded to SB, calls. Flop comes J high with 2 spades. SB bets $2, I raise to $6, he calls. Turn is an A. He checks, I check as well. Hopefully he has a J, hoping that he makes 2 pair or better yet trip Js on the river. River comes the 3rd spade. He checks, I bet like $2, he min raises, I just call. He turns over 63s. Man serves me right trying to get fancy! Embarassing as I'm sure a lot of the guys saw my muck cards, lol.

Back to the old Party Network I go.

After complaining about tightness on the "old party" network I find myself back there. This time to clear the Eurobet "SHAW" reload. 50% max $200. 10x. 30 days. I usually wouldn't touch a 10x like this, but the 30 days is nice. I can take my time to clear this, and not have to play a crapload of poker in a short amount of time. So far so good. Playing the $50NL tables. All the $25NL/PL tables were $1/$2 avg pots. Only 1/2 the hands were raking!

Having fun at Harrods Casino. 100% max £50. 20xB. They have some fun versions of Blackjack there. Double exposure (See both of the dealer's cards). The dealer gets the advantage of ties though, except for BJ, you win. BJ surrender where you can surrender at any time. Most of these also have the bonus bet, which I haven't tried. A few other versions as well. Kismet software, same as Red Lounge Casino.

1st of all, why were there so many people seeing this flop at 6x BB after 2 EP raises? Though a min re-raise should have isolated myself and ChiLLen, it didn't and it cost him a nice amount of change. That re-reraise I put in post flop should have warned him against the set, but I guess its still a tough fold to make. I can't guarantee I could make that fold. I knew there was at least 1 flush draw, surprised there was only 1 chaser though.

Finished Empire reload with a nice profit. Avg pot = $2 on the NL25 games, lol. Oh well, good enough to get a rake in, but terrible for actually making any $. Luckily I had a few good pots. My last orbit I had to make 4 raked hands to get to 500. I couldn't do it, had to complete one more BB!! Man tight as my anus there.

On the Casino side, finished up Victor Chandler for a small profit, Finished littlewoods for a small profit, started up Harrods Casino and so far so good. 100% up to £50, 20xB. Will putup a full review later.

Another KK MTT loss and funny Empire hand!

Well another MTT and another KK crippling. 30something players left, I'm in about 10th place. EP raises 3x, I reraise 4x his bet, folded around, he calls. Flop comes Qxx. He checks, I put in 1/2 the pot (just about his stack size), he goes allin and I call the rest. Turns over QQ, and I'm left with 1500 odd chips. Still about 10x BB, but that was the turning point in this tourney.

HA = House Advantage. Most BJ games are 0.45% Video Poker, Pontoon are the next best games allowed. Pai Gow, Casino War are doable.
Sticky - Bonuses which are not cashable. 2 types. Sticky 1 = Disappear from your account upon withdrawal. Sticky 2 = Bonus stays in your account until you lose it. Sometimes sticky 2s are cashable

100% max $200 20xB waging requirement. Therefore deposit $200, get an extra $200. Wager $4k, and you can cash it all out. This is by far the best bonus in the industry. Expected Value is $191, therefore that was what your expected to make by doing this bonus! For CON I just flat betted $5 per hand, took about 1.5 hr, cashout takes roughly a week. Check your comp points to keep track of wagering. WArning, do not use Neteller as your first time deposit method!!! WR increases if so. 8) Bet365 Casino

100% max $200. 10xB+D wr. Playtech software. A little higher wr than the others but still very worth it. Poker bonus is the best reload bonus right now at 5x, and you are able to do both the casino and poker bonus! I played regular multihand blackjack here but I believe you can also play BJ surrender and BJ switch. EV is $180.

9) Sports Interaction Casino

125% max $125. 20xB wr. The waging requirement might be 8xB+D. T&Cs keep on changing and not very clear. It says sticky but it really means sticky until you reach your wr. Playtech software, and once in a while they have yummy reloads! You also get a 10% bonus if you deposit via neteller, so possibly add that to your wr.

10) Red Lounge Casino

100% max £50, 20xB wr. No Americans allowed and only 1 kismet account per player. Great software, lots of various games to play, and easy bonus to whore.

Sticky Help
2 optimal ways to play type 1 stickies. First is to bet it all on one hand. Hopefully double up, and then revert back to your usually betting size to finish off the wr. By doing this your risking $100 to profit $400 right off the bat. Any of these games are fine if allowed, BJ, BJ surrender, BJ switch, Pai Gow, Casino War. The other way is to make big bets, anywhere from 20% to 50%. Set yourself a target and when you hit that target, continue with your regular bet size. I guess there is a 3rd option of mixing up both methods!

Video Games - Poker on the backburner?

Yesterday the only online video game series that I have played religously came out, Socom 3. Army/navy type game where you utilize teamwork and tactics to win. Part 2 of this took a backseat when I started playing more online poker, so I find it funny that the roles are now being reversed again. I'll finish my Empire reload, maybe play some Paradise, a couple tournies this month, Casino monthlies, and that will be it for gambling for Oct, unless a new PSO promo comes out soon! This game gets pretty addictive, and so far its pretty badass!

Party Split

So Party finally did it and split from their skins. Very curious to see how they rank now in terms of players. Don't know how accurate it is, but stats are still showing it as having double the # of active players than #2 (Poker Stars).

Played on the old network (Empire) over the weekend. Pots are smaller, hands are not being raked as frequently as before. Still a good place to play though, especially for me clearing a nice $100 5x bonus that Empire through into my inactive account! Cashed out of Eurobet. Had a rakeback account there, but only use that account to play SnGs. Don't imagine they will be as juicy anymore.

Finished the Bet365 reload as well. Small profit + the $100 bonus, so I enjoyed it. Hopefully they do it next month as well.

For the 4th time in the past 5 tournies, I have gone out or been severly crippled with KK. I've been playing it aggressively preflop, but never seems to holdup. By calling and then pushing postflop without an A, I'm pretty sure I may have taken down a couple of these, but I still don't think thats the right move. Gonna stick with my Allin and pray I don't run into As. This might change if I'm on the bubble.

Doubt there will be much poker playing this long weekend, turkey time. Some juicy freerolls though I might be missing, Empire $10k, Bet365 $30k, Hollywood BPT free entry makeup.

Bet365 - Best reload right now. 5x. Struggling a bit on prima. Have decided not to play so many tables at one time! Worked last night just playing 2 tables. Love the donkies who call all the way to the river with an A rag, and missing everything but the A river. A simple "nh" by myself, and the rest of their $ is easy taking. Did it to a couple of guys last night.
