Online payment processor, Neteller, announced today that it is withdrawing from both the Canadian and Turkish markets. Cited as reason for the decision were “Recent actions by regulators, payment processors, and online gaming operators have increased the uncertainty around certain activities related to online gambling in some jurisdiction.” The primary reason for the closure to Turkish customers is legislation passed on February 28, 2007 “which prohibits certain forms of online gambling to be offered by any “unauthorised” domestic or foreign company to citizens in Turkey.” Neteller apparently see this as a signal to get out, even though the company does not actually engage in online gambling. Online gambling transactions are no longer available in Turkey as of March 26, 2007.No specific reason was given for the cessation of online gambling transactions for Canadian residents. Unlike Turkey, customers in Canada can still engage in online gambling transactions until April 9, although InstaCASH transactions are no longer available as of Monday. Non-gambling transactions can still be made, which includes peer-to-peer and pre-paid debit transactions.Neteller says that the elimination of its Canadian business will have a “…material negative impact on the Group’s results for the full year ending 31 December 2007.” Considering that in the first half of 2006, 85 percent of Neteller’s $5.1 billion in revenue came from North America, this is not hard to believe.The company does not expect to make any more layoffs, even at its Calgary office, and says its shares will remain suspended from trading.Neteller reiterated that it still expects to announce within 75 days of March 21 a plan to return frozen U.S. customer funds, and that all customer funds are safe in segregated accounts. Help Wanted: Need Heads Up Coach!
I used to think that I was pretty good HeadsUp. Now I realize that I suck!!! Its been a while since I've won a tournament, sit and gos not included. I have over $7k in tournament winnings this year without a first. In fact I have 3 2nd place finishes! The difference in those 2nds equates to roughly $1700 difference, so thats some nice lost equity.
Last night I lost headsup twice. First one we were about even. Was against a loose passive preflop player who slowplayed everything. Unfortunately he took a lot of my chips playing that way as he hit a lot of boards. Down to 2:1 for him, all my chips are in 88 vs 55. River 5.
2nd headsup I was 8:1 underdog with an M of around 7. Lost 1/2 my chips with 2nd pair, and then I just through the rest in preflop the next hand with J9o.
I need to practice my headsup, finishing 2nd sucks. Anybody want to coach?

Aggressive Disaster
Playing non standard top hands aggressively in position is usually a +EV move that will increase your bankroll nicely. The key to them is that you win big pots and lose small ones. At least thats what I thought.
T9s is a hand I love to play aggressively. It hits sooo many hands and can brokeback a high pair easily. I got it twice and both times were disasterous. The first time I hit trip 9s on the flop on a 997 flop. After he called my flop bet I was certain he had an overpair. Turn was an 8. Looks good but not a good card for me unless he has a 9 as well with a better kicker. Ends up that he was holding 88 and I go broke.
Second time I didn't play it as aggressively and let the initial raiser take the post flop betting lead. The reason for that was because I was in the cutoff and the button came along for the ride as well. Flop gave me a flush draw but there were 2 kings on the flop. After I called the bettors bet, so did the button. Right away I thought he had a K, prob KJ as he did not raise. Turn produced a rag. Small bet where we both called. Now I knew he had KJ for sure, and the original raiser I couldn't care less about. River was the dreaded Js which completed my flush. Was forced to check behind and hope that the button only bet a small value bet. He bet about a 1/4 so I called. I hate doing that, and have to learn to trust my instincts. I'm not sure but mathematics tells me I have to call those though.

Now I knew he had KJ for sure, and the original raiser I couldn't care less about. River was the dreaded Js which completed my flush. Was forced to check behind and hope that the button only bet a small value bet. He bet about a 1/4 so I called. I hate doing that, and have to learn to trust my instincts. I'm not sure but mathematics tells me I have to call those though.
Other News
Just for discussion purposes, I'm going to start posting daily news (or news since I last posted), about things that affect me. Good or bad, plus I'll always add an ugly.
- CRTC wireless freedom in effect today. I'm not sure how it works in the states but finally today we can switch cell phone providers without having to change our phone numbers! I have already frauded my cell provider into giving me a corporate plan so I don't think I'm going to change, but this is great news in terms of receiving better customer service from the providers! Good
- UFC event #70 on April 21 will be shown for FREE on SpikeTV. The event taking place in the UK is scheduled for a 2pm est start, but there might be a tape delay here to show it during bar friendly hours. The UFC missed the PPV deadline and couldn't come to an agreement with HBO, therefore viewers win out! Good
- Tori Spelling is officially off the market has she just had a baby boy yesterday. So all you guys who had thoughts of hooking up with the freak with an acre gap between her two jugs, only wet dreams from now on. Ugly

Overthinking
Finally cashed in a Stars Sunday Million donkament. Extra donkified 10,000+ players with a prize pool in excess of $2 million. Finished 427 for $800ish but I cost myself the chance to make it further.
In this case I was overthinking, instead of making pretty much a standard play from any other player I think. I also had a peak at the next payout structure which is a big no-no. Goal is the top prize, not an extra few hundred.

Feb Recap
Though profitable, Feb turned up being more disappointing than anything. Mostly because it started off so well. After the first weekend I was up over $2k from my tournament winnings. By the next week through solid cash game play I was up another thousand. From there on it was a bumpy ride, down and up, and down, and down, and down. Ended the month +$1700.

SnG ITM - 65% 11/17
MTT ITM - 15% 4/28
Sat % - 8%
Positives
- MTT play: Started off good, but just didn't run good during late stages of tournies. Ran into monsters preflop, and some donks. ie) AA vs 45o preflop late in a Mansion tourney.
- SnG: Party steps has been profitable. Turned $30 into $500.
- Cash 1/2NL SH. Or NL SH in general. Dabled 2/5NL for a bit. Lost a buyin and a 1/2. Bad beats lost it all but otherwise I'll probably play more of this limit in March and take it from there.
Negatives
- SH Limit games: I just stunk in them. Bad reads, overplaying, prob bluffing too much when it obv that I'd be called down.
- Satellites: I completely suck at these now. Period. <<< = Satellite donk. I have now won 1 out of 17 satellites for 2007.

- several good promos as posted below. I'll probably have a few more hours in for March then I did for Feb. Weird I've only played 90hrs for 2007. Seems low, need to play more! :)
